Antonín Dvořák’s Mass in D major
You are invited to the last activity on the occasion of NSKAD’s 85th anniversary! On Saturday 29 April, we will rehearse Dvořák’s Mass in D with all of you, and perform it in the evening. Part of our choir has sung the piece before, see the recording of it here. However, this epic and joyous piece deserves to be performed with a large choir of members, former members, friends, family and other interested parties! And for that, we need your help.
For experienced singers, it’s a quick way to experience new repertoire, aswell as a sightreading/studying challenge. For newcomers it is awesome to experience the feeling of singing with a big choir and a booming church organ.
For those friends and family members who are afraid of singing, they can visit the concert: entry is free! However, we definitely recommend singing with us, even if you have little experience or are a bit nervous.
Both the scratch day and the performance in the evening will be led by the talented conductor Catelijn van Berkel. During the rehearsal day, we will be assisted by our regular pianist Ben van Daal. At the evening concert, Jan Pieter Lanooy will provide expert organ accompaniment. Solos will be distributed among those interested – more information will follow later.
If you don’t have (much) choir experience, don’t be afraid: the rest of us do!

Location
- Rehearsal: Theaterzaal C Elinor Ostrom Building (Heyendaalseweg 141, 6525 AJ Nijmegen). Parking is possible on the campus of Radboud University.
- Concert: Groenestraatkerk (Groenestraat 229, 6531 HH Nijmegen).
Planning
- Rehearsal: 10:00 – 16:30 (including breaks)
- Dress rehearsal: 17:00 – 18:00
- Dinner: 18:00 – 20:00
- Concert: 20:30
- Drinks!
Food
- Please bring your own lunch.
- Dinner is not provided. Luckily, the center of Nijmegen is home to all kinds of restaurants.

- Kindly pay through this link.
- If the participation fee is a barrier, we would like to accommodate you. In that case, you can register in the same way, but do not use the payment request: transfer €20 to NL32 RABO 0342 6762 29 stating “[Name] scratch reduced fee”.
