Are you a student with a desire to sing?
Join Nijmeegs Studentenkoor Alphons Diepenbrock! The choir consists of about 50 members and is oriented towards classical music. We give two or three concerts each year. We rehearse every Tuesday in a relaxed atmosphere in Wijkcentrum Villanova, Derde van Hezewijkstraat 2 (near central station). Our choir is popular with international students since rehearsals are held in English. After rehearsal we always go to ‘De Kluizenaar’ for drinks.
Singing is not the only thing we do at the NSKAD. Besides musicality, group bonding is paramount. We therefore have several committees organising a variety of activities, ranging from the by now traditional intro-bowling, to barbecues, a music night, 'diner rouler', games night, beer tastings and an autumn walk in the forest. Furthermore we organise a 'choir weekend' each year, as well as an exchange with a foreign orchestra about once every two years. In may 2016, for instance, we went to Tallinn, Estonia, where we performed Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, partnering with the Tallinn university orchestra.
